Autumn paints in colours that summer has never seen. Anon
The days may grow shorter, and the temperature may fall, but the incredible autumnal colours in the late afternoon sunlight and the comfort of a roaring fire make our hearts sing.

The glorious bounty of natural products to gather and use to make inks and dyes is at its pinnacle at the moment. An autumnal afternoon walk is a perfect opportunity to stretch one's legs and collect treasures ranging from dahlias to walnut cases and oak galls. It does not take long to fill a basket even though we always remember to leave plenty behind for the residents, whether feathered, furry or somewhat smaller.

As outside time is shortened by darkening evenings, we relish the opportunity to go inside and make beautiful things from fabulous naturally dyed fabrics, refine our calligraphy skills and use our inks.

Those dreams of handwritten letters and hygge inducing cushions, quilts, and wallhangings finally become a reality.
