Our happy artists will make a trio of personalised tools to allow them to explore the wonderful world of natural ink. You will personalise a sketchbook, hand paint a dip pen and make at least two different bottles of ink to experiment with.

Not only will you learn how to draw with charcoal but you will learn how to make willow charcoal following in the footsteps of artists across the millennia. Wow!

indigo dye-shibori and tie dye -wed 3rd april(pm)
Back by popular demand - come and join us as we make an indigo dye vat and use it to learn some shibori skills before using them to upgrade a plain jute bag and up-cycle items of clothing and homeware. Suitable for beginners and those who have been before but loved it so much that they would like another go.

flower pressing and paper making- SOLD OUT

A new course for 2023 this session will allow you to join the trend for seeded cards by showing you how to make fabulous handmade paper and how to embellish them using pressed flowers and plant seeds.

You will leave the session with your own flower press and a selection of unique and plantable papers.

magic colour changing ink and ink diffusers -
thursday 4th april (pm)
Come and join us to learn about the magical colour shifting action of acids and alkalis on a variety of different natural inks. Having made a beautiful selection of varied colours, you will use them with ink diffusers and stencils to create beautiful images and backgrounds.

lino printing with natural inks - coming soon
Natural ink can also be made into printing ink so in this workshop you will learn how to make it and use it! You will also learn about lino printing and design your own block to decorate an accessory of your choice. The more experienced should have time to sew handprinted fabrics into a groovy clutch bag or purse.
