it is amazing to think that not too long ago, in the history of the world, all inks and paints came from natural pigments found in plants, rocks and sometimes, crushed beetles. Uck! On this course we will use acorns to make our ink, breaking them up and steeping them in hot water until they are ready to be strained. With a few magic ingredients, a good stir and a shake, we will have the most perfect acorn ink

While we wait for our ink to brew you can hand paint your own nib pen ready to learn some beginner calligraphy techniques. By the end of the course you will have a range of useful phrases such as Happy Birthday! Happy Christmas! Thank You! which you can practice at home with your new pen, your own acorn ink and some Wild & Madder practice sheets.
